Work With Me

Felicity has been a tremendous asset to Outland Opera already. Her work means that I can concentrate on growing my charity ‘behind-the-scenes’ whilst safe in the knowledge that our audience is being looked after by someone who understands them.

What can I help you with?

SEO Website Copy

The words on your website don’t just tell people about your business. They have the power to connect, inspire, and excite.

  • Brand new website copy
  • Website copy refresh
  • Website SEO audit

Blogs & Content

Purposeful content captures people’s interest and brings them to you. Don’t let empty content lose you potential customers.

  • Blogs & Articles
  • Social Media
  • Case Studies
  • Content Strategy

SEO as standard

I write for humans, not bots. However, unless your site shows up on Google, those humans might not find you at all – let alone connect with you and your work.

That’s why I believe that brilliant web copy means optimised copy. And I don’t believe in charging extra for that.

When I write copy for web projects, it’s search engine optimised as standard. I’ll also submit all the relevant title tags, meta descriptions, and image alt texts to you or your designer. So, you have the best chance of showing up in front of all your dream customers.

Copy as collaboration

Writing excellent copy doesn’t just require collaborating with you (and your imaginary ideal customer).

Great copy really sings when combined with clever design – to highlight the right quotes, give extra power and impact to certain phrases, and lead readers on a journey through your words.

That’s why I always work closely alongside my clients’ website and graphic designers to make sure your copy really comes to life. My service doesn’t end until your copy goes live online.

Don’t have a designer lined up? No problem – I’ll happily recommend some of my favourites.

How it works

If you’ve never worked with a copywriter before, it can be hard to know where to start or what to expect from the process. I’m here to make life easier for you, not more complicated, so I’ve whipped up a step-by-step guide so you know exactly what will happen before we even get started.

Get in Touch

Step 1

Get in touch. Give me a call, or if you prefer to text – via DMs on Instagram, or via Whatsapp (I see you, introverts). If you want to keep it simple though, everyone knows where they are with an email.

Tell me More

Step 2

We book a time to have a chat ASAP where we can talk through what you need and see if we click. This is FREE and completely non-binding. It can be on the phone or a video call – it’s totally up to you. Or if you’re in London, my office does excellent coffee..

Step 3

Assuming we’re a good fit, after our chat I’ll send through a detailed proposal of how I can help you, and what it will cost. I guarantee to send this within 24 hours of our call.

Secure your Spot

Step 4

If you decide to go ahead with the project, you’ll pay a 50% deposit to secure my time and unadulterated attention.

The Brief

Step 5

We’ll then work together to fill out a brief so I can learn even more about your business and what your aims are. Don’t worry – I have all the right questions to ask you so you won’t have to do too much thinking. At the end of this, I should know your business so well I can speak as you – plus you’ll be even clearer on your business’s unique values and message. Bonus!

You Relax

Step 6

I go away and write the words you need, while you get to work on the parts of your business that made you want to start it in the first place! Or even take a break – make a cup of tea/spend time with your kids – because you have time now! Alien, right?

Get your Copy

Step 7

I send you a draft and we schedule a chat so you can let me know your thoughts and any requested amends.

Make it Perfect

Step 8

I go away and make sure everything is tip top. I even send the final draft to a professional proofreader to make sure there’s nothing I’ve missed from staring at it for so long. Meanwhile – more tea?

Sign-Off

Step 9

I’ll send you the final copy, on time (or early), along with your final invoice, which is payable within 14 days (don’t worry – I’ll give you a friendly reminder).

Happy Times

Step 10

You sit back and watch your connection with your customers grow.

And if you want to come back for more – we can breeze through steps 1-5 super quickly because I’ll already know your business. Some clients I have worked with so much, all that’s needed to set a new project in motion is a quick email. A wordsmith at your fingertips – how nice is that?

We were under quite a tight time schedule for a blog that would sit on a third-party website, and Fizz delivered promptly and with little briefing from me. She has a great attitude and is thorough in her approach. We were able to trust that she would do a good job with little work on our side.

I’m so excited you’re ready to invest in your copy and make a greater impact in the world!

My speciality is writing words that make people take action. And I LOVE using that superpower to help make the world a better place.

So now you know why I’m here – tell me a bit about you!

A little bit more about me...

I live in London, but grew up in Cornwall. I miss either one when I’m not there.

I love the bars, restaurants, theatres, lights, and noise of London, but also love camping in the middle of nowhere, paddleboarding, surfing, and hiking in the countryside.

I live with my partner, who was also a singer, but is now a chef at a Michelin-starred restaurant and focuses on sustainable cooking. (Lucky me!)

We also have a miniature longhaired dachshund, called Alfie. He is adorable. And expensive. If you’re lucky, you might get to meet him when we chat. If he’s not at the vets, again.

I still sing a little bit professionally on the side, and am a member of the Choir of the Chapels Royal, HM Tower of London. Basically I get to swan around the Tower of London pretending I’m Anne Boleyn. What’s not to love?

I worked as a supermarket delivery driver in the pandemic while I was getting my new business going. So I’m not afraid of hard work. But please don’t ask me to carry any more crates of bottled water to the 33rd floor.

I love eating. (Did I mention how excited I am that my partner’s a chef?)

I love a challenge, so I started training to do triathlons last year, despite not having ever run 5km before then. This helps with the ‘living with a chef’ and ‘loving eating’ thing.
